Tukwila Branch Grand Reopening Celebration

The Salal Credit Union Tukwila branch first opened for business in the mid-1980s. That’s more than 30 years ago! Over the course of those years, the credit union made many improvements to better serve our members, but the interior of the branch changed very little. You can imagine our excitement surrounding its recent (and long overdue) remodel.

After months of renovation and a temporary relocation, the Tukwila branch quietly reopened its doors in mid-August. Finally, on Thursday, August 25, the branch celebrated its official Grand Reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.

It Takes a Village

Salal staff from across the entire credit union played a part in the Tukwila branch remodel. Many of them showed up to mark the event and see the branch in its completed state for the first time. Some of our friends from the Tukwila City CouncilSeattle Southside Chamber of Commerce, and Highline Medical Center Foundation also came out to show their support.

To kick off things off, Salal CEO Russ Rosendal thanked our hardworking staff, marveled at the vastly improved branch interior, and introduced our special guests. Joe Duffie, Tukwila City Council President, followed up with a thoughtful speech to the crowd. He thanked Salal for our continued commitment to doing business in Tukwila and for providing valuable financial services to the people who live and work there. Mr. Duffie and Mr. Rosendal were joined by Salal’s Amy Ridley, our senior business development specialist, to cut the ceremonial ribbon. Mrs. Ridley later presented the Highline Foundation with a $500 donation to support their emergency room clothing fund.

Mrs. Ridley, the main organizer of the grand reopening event, was quick to thank everyone involved. “We have a fantastic community here in Tukwila. Without the help of our neighboring businesses, this celebration would not have been a success. It truly takes a village!”

We’d also like to say thank you to our Tukwila members who were so patient during the remodel. We hope you feel the wait was worth it.
