Frequently Asked Question
Q: If I’m already an employee of Salal Credit Union, where do I submit an application?
A: Current Salal team members should not apply via the link on this webpage but rather via the link on the Commons under the HR department link. If you do accidentally submit your application via the link on this page, be sure to let the Talent Acquisition team know by emailing them at careers@SalalCU.org.
Q: What if I have questions or just want to learn more about working at Salal Credit Union?
A: Feel free to contact our Talent Acquisition team at careers@SalalCU.org.
Q: What should be included in my application?
A: A resume is required for your application. We prefer documents in Word or PDF format. You also have the option to upload a cover letter, but it is not required.
Q: Can I apply more than once?
A: We do not suggest applying to the same job posting more than once. If you were not selected and you see the same job posted again in the future, then you are welcome to apply again. However, unless you have gained more relevant experience or updated your application materials to more explicitly explain your qualifications, it’s unlikely you would move forward in the process.
Q: What happens after I apply?
A: A member of our Talent Acquisition team will review your application. At that point they will determine if a phone interview will be appropriate. You will receive notice of that decision via email.
Q: I made a mistake on my application or uploaded the wrong resume. Who do I contact?
A: You can send an email to careers@SalalCU.org to get in touch with the Talent Acquisition team. One of our helpful teammates will help you correct your application.
Q: That application was so short! Did I miss a step?
A: Probably not. If you received a confirmation email from ApplicantPro (our application tracking system) then we’ve received your application. If you move forward in the process, you may be asked to provide additional details, like references, detailed employment history, etc.
Q: Who should apply to the General Opportunities posting?
A: Anyone can submit an application for our General Opportunity posting. This is primarily an option for those who do not see a current role that exactly fits your background but are interested in working for Salal. Our Talent Acquisition team continually reviews the General Opportunity applications to schedule phone interviews and hear more about your background.
Q: Where are you located?
A: Our headquarters are located in Seattle plus we have four branch locations in the Seattle region. More information can be found on our Locations & Hours page. Some of our departments do work remotely or offer hybrid work schedules.
Q: Is banking experience required for all roles at Salal Credit Union?
A: No! Many of our roles do not require banking experience, but some do. Be sure to read the job posting thoroughly to understand what kind of candidate would be the best fit for the role.
Q: Does Salal Credit Union host interns?
A: Not at this time. This might not always be the case, so if you are very interested, feel free to check back in the future.
Q: I have a family member/roommate who works for Salal Credit Union. Can we work together?
A: Due to our internal policies, we generally don’t hire family members or housemates of our current staff. There may be exceptions to this on a case-by-case basis, so long as there is no conflict of interest.
